Andy Whyment is best known for his comedy roles including his current role as Kirk Sutherland which he has played since 2001.

Before joining the cast of Coronation Street Andy played the part of Darren Sinclair-Jones in the BBC hit comedy series The Royle Family. 

Andy came second in the ITV hit show Soapstar Superstar, beaten only by Richard Fleeshman.
