Born in Biloxi, Mississippi, USA - Gwen is now a UK resident due to her enormous success in both the UK and Europe where she regularly features in both club and television engagements.
Gwen Dickey - the voice of ROSE ROYCE on all the hit records made famous by this international group. No one can forget the classic hits of the 70's such as 'Car Wash', 'Wishing On A Star', 'Love Don't Live Here Anymore', 'Do Your Dance', 'Is It Love You're After', 'I'm In Love' and 'I Wanna Get Next To You'.
Gwen embarked on a solo career and she enjoyed her first chart success when she joined forces with KWS on Chakka Khan's classic hit 'Ain't Nobody' in 1994.
In 1998 Gwen teamed up with international rap artist Jay Z for a brand new version of the Rose Royce hit 'Wishing On A Star'. Gwen's new vocals sounded just as great as ever and after picking up extensive air play on Radio 1 and all the independant station, the record entered the Uk Charts giving Gwen her first solo Top Ten Hit.
In 1999 Gwen sang the title song for the Warner Brothers hit Dutch film 'Abeltge' with Dutch top band Romeo.
For the first half of 2001 Gwen headlined the nationwide tour of 'What A Feeling' which played major theatre's throughout the UK. She also appeared for Formula One racing in Monte Carlo and did the half time show at the prestigious Charity Shield match between Manchester United and Liverpool. Television appearances that year included 'Never Mind The Buzzcocks' and Channel 5's 'Night Fever'.
She is currently undertaking engagements, both on playback and with her band which is billed as Gwen Dickey's Rose Royce.
Gwen has recently been in the studio's in Paris laying down tracks for her forthcoming album.
