Former Lead Singer of THE DRIFTERS…

Ray was born in Los Angeles and grew up singing in church. One of his first jobs as lead singer was to re-record all of the original Drifters’ hits so the public would recognise him as the voice of The Drifters. He performed alongside the late Bill Fredericks and Johnny Moore as well as Ben E King and went on to become one of the longest serving members of the band, finally leaving in the late 1980’s to pursue a solo career.

Since then he has performed around the world as an artist in his own right. Ray settled in the UK 20 years ago and is still in high demand, touring throughout the year and performing Drifters’ hits with the group he has put together, Still Drifting.

Now the time is right for Ray to release his new solo album which he has been working on for close to five years. He is a perfectionist and will not let anything out of the studio until he is happy with the sound’ says Ray’s musical director and producer.

Ray’s meticulous approach has paid off and he is thrilled with the results; ‘I have worked long and hard on this project and I just hope and pray that the public share my enthusiasm.’ Ray continues, ‘Every track is a brand new arrangement and unique. I am excited at sharing the final cut with all my fans.’
